1. What informed your choice of cards?

The photo I chose was a car, but the other word I got was minimum. These are two opposite words, so it is difficult for me to do. I decided to show my car by overlapping lines.

2. How did you choose your materials in relation to each card? Or were you drawn to materials for other reasons? If so, what reasons?

When I choose materials, I will try to choose materials with irregular shape and good scalability, which will make it easier for me to get messy and scattered effects. Because I want to use the folding and repetition of lines to reflect the feeling of fragmentation, I use iron wire as material. In addition, in terms of color, my overall color is relatively monotonous, the most important is the color of iron wire, but in order to make it more interesting, I added white cotton as ornament, and sprayed color with spray paint, so that the color of the whole work is not so boring.

3. How did you find the experience of experimenting with three-dimensional techniques without planning and designing in detail beforehand?

To tell you the truth, it makes me feel overwhelmed. I like divergent thinking, gradually find inspiration, and then imagine my inspiration. I also like to use painting and sketch language to express my thinking process. When ideas come to my mind, they are pictures. I like to write them down. So when I started looking for materials today, I didn't have any sense of purpose. I don't know where I will go next. In the process of looking for materials and making, I was confused many times and didn't know what to do.

4. What have you learned today through chance, by accident?

I fainted in an accident today because the shape of the iron wire was difficult to fix. I used a lot of glue, but it didn't stick and almost fell apart, so I tried the glue gun. At first, I didn't want to use the glue gun. Because it is easy to draw and shape, it will make the whole work look very messy and unsightly, but after I used it, I found more surprises. I used the silk pulled by the glue gun to make many techniques, which further reflects a fragile feeling, makes the whole work look small and perfectly reflects my theme. It has brought me unexpected surprises and effects.

5. Did you push yourself and take risks?

Yes, when I choose materials and production, I encounter a lot of difficulties because I have no design and planning. I haven't been able to find the direction, so I keep carrying out material test in this process to test my best materials, make progress and get new ideas. I try my best at every step. I'm very satisfied with the final work.

6. What was your favourite artwork/artist from the lecture and why?

In today's lecture, Tamara Henderson's works attract me most. I like the color and shape of this work very much. And the collocation and application of his colors. The title of this work also interests me. I want to know why Tamara Henderson chose to combine the sun and spiders. I am very interested in his combination and production process. Finally, it is a very interesting process to create a sculpture.

7. Do you need to bring specific materials for tomorrow? If so, what for?

I will bring with me very common basic materials I love, such as brushes, paper, ropes and foam glue. I don't know the theme of tomorrow, but I think no matter what the theme is, it's easier for me to get inspiration when I add my favorite materials.
